Beach Field Trip

On Tuesday last week, I joined Mary Varner and the First Grade on their field trip to Henderson State Park at the beach.  The park rangers for the Emerald coast were there teaching the children all sorts of preservation things for the beach and ocean wildlife.  The water was absolutely beautiful that day!

Each child picked out some  trash from the ranger and had to place it on the right part of the timeline of when that type of trash would finally break down.  MV had a yellow plastic bag which never breaks down.

That morning when we were getting ready MV said she really hoped we would see dolphins.  Well, she got her wish!!  We saw two sets swim by really close to the shore!

My friend, Charity (another child's mom in the class) took the next few pictures and then sent me a copy.  This is a sail boat that takes people out on sailing tours.  I thought it was a cool picture.

There were touching tanks set up with all sorts of critters in it. The park ranger is trying to catch a shrimp in this picture!

Ms. Charity took this picture of Mary Varner!

After the field trip, MV's teacher encouraged  parents to check the kids out because they really did not have anything planned for the afternoon at school.  I checked MV out and we had a Mommy/Daughter lunch just the two of us.  We had a great time together!
