Baby update and 4-D pic!!

I went for my dr. appt today, and everything looks and sounds(heartbeat) great!! I am now officially starting the every 2 weeks dr. appointments:)!!! One of my playgroup moms works as the P.A. at my Ob's office 2 days a week, and she told me last week that when I came in they would try to fit me in for a 4-D ultrasound just to "test" the equipment if I wanted them to. So, today when I went for my regular 30 week appt., they tried it out on me!! This was the only picture they got because of time and me not really being scheduled for an ultrasound and all, but I was very excited just to be able to see her again and especially in 4-D!! It brought tears to my eyes when I saw her little face!!! She peeped out of the "tissues"(that's what is around her face) as the ultrasound girl called it just long enough to get this shot!! I think she has the Elder mouth like Mary Varner does, and the same nose too!! Sorry about the quality, I took a picture of a picture and this was the best one that I could get!!!

First haircut!

Mary Varner got her first haircut today! I have been debating on whether or not to get her hair trimmed for the past month or so! She was just starting to get some long hair in the back, but it was VERY uneven!! So, today after our usual Friday lunch date after library, I took her to get her haircut! She did great, and was very excited (although in the pictures she looks very serious). She kept asking the lady if she was going to use the hairdryer, and after the trim was over the lady fluffed her hair with the hairdryer which made her day!! She talked about the whole event the entire way home, and her hair looks soooo much better now!

The baby's name is....

According to Mary Varner the baby's name is Rosie! I checked out some books from the library about becoming a big sister and in one of the books the baby's name is Rosie, so now when you say anything about baby sister (which is what we have been calling her) she will say "baby Rosie". This is not one of the possible names that we have thought of for the baby, so I guess we need to hurry up and decide so that we can let MV know what the real name is and she will not get attached to the name Rosie!

Love/Hate Relationship

Mary Varner is scared to death of the vacuum when I am vacuuming the carpet, but she LOVES her little vacuum that she got for Christmas (I do not understand either). Anyway, this morning I walked into the laundry room to start a load of clothes, and this is what I saw! I thought it was so cute that she had put her vacuum next to mine! This is a step in the right direction because she used to not even go into the laundry room because the vacuum was in there!

Big girl bed!

Mary Varner is officially sleeping in her "big girl bed" now!! Last week she started saying that she wanted to sleep in the "big bed", so I let her sleep there during naps last week. This weekend we moved the crib to the new baby's room and setup Mary Varner's new "big girl room". We still have some arranging to do, and the new baby's room looks like a tornado came through, but all that will come together soon! She is doing great in the big bed, I teared up the first night because she looks so small in that BIG bed!! She does not get out like I was soooo scared she would,and when she wakes up from nap or in the morning she calls out to us to come get her that she is ready to get up! I am still checking on her during the night so my nerves are still on edge about it, but I am sure I will get used to it soon!! She has done so great with all her "big girl" transitions lately (giving up paci, potty training, moving out of crib), I am just amazed that she has done all of these things without very many setbacks. My baby girl is growing up too fast!!

Growing Baby Belly

I am 27 weeks now, and only one more week left in the 2nd trimester!! This pregnancy is going by alot faster than it did with MV! I had my Dr. appt last Monday, and everything looks great with baby girl!! I ,on the other hand,am feeling good overall, but obviously enjoyed the holidays too much! I had a 7 pd weight gain in the 5 weeks that had passed since my last visit! My doctor told me that I was still in the "normal" weight range for the gestation week that I am in, but 7 pds in 5 weeks!!! He did say that I did better than he did over the holidays, which made me feel a little better! I have reached the point in pregnancy where complete strangers are asking when I am due and not just looking at me like they want to ask but are not sure if I am really pregnant or not! There is no way anyone can mistake if I am pregnant or not now, and I am trying to savor each little kick and pregnancy feeling as best I can (while chasing a 2 year old) because I know that it will all be over soon!!!

Two, Three, and Four

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's !! We got back from our trip to Mississippi a few days ago, and I have been so busy with taking down Christmas decor, washing clothes, and also fighting a bad cold that I am just now getting to putting our Christmas pictures on the blog!! I had so many pictures that I decided to put them into a slideshow! We had a wonderful time with our families, and I can say that Mary Varner really enjoyed every moment that we were there!
