The week before Spring Break and Spring Break

The week before Spring Break was a theme week to help raise money for the school's Relay for Life team.  Each day was a certain theme, and to participate each student would bring a dollar to donate.
Monday was crazy hair day.  Janey was super excited about her crazy hair.  Mary Varner did not go to school this day because of a really bad cough and cold.

Tuesday was Dynamic Duo Day.  The girls decided to dress up as Cat Woman and Wonder Woman.

Wednesday was Disney Day.

Thursday was St. Patrick's Day ( green), and hat day.  Janey was running a fever so she could not go to school on this day.

Mary Varner had a group project where each group created their own business.  For weeks, each group worked together on advertisements, a budget, making and gathering inventory, learning supply and demand, and even creating a commercial that they videoed to present to class.  This was the big conclusion to a unit they have been learning on economics.  MV's group created the business, The Fishy Boutique.  The customer could buy a "fish", and accessories to go on your fish.  All the parents were invited to come shop at all the different groups' businesses.  I was very impressed with all the unique businesses the students had created.

The students earned "money" by doing different things for a few weeks before the shopping day.  MV is holding her checkbook in this picture while getting her hand painted at one of the stores.  They had to keep a balanced checkbook with each purchase.

The girls and I went to Mississippi for the first part of Spring Break.  The first full day there, Janey's fever went up, and she was struggling with a terrible chest cough.  I took her to the after hours clinic there, and a chest x- ray showed pneumonia.  The doctor told me that she was to rest and only do calm activities for the week especially while she still had fever.  This changed some of our plans for the week.  We did not get to go see Ben, Mollie Grace, and Annie at their new house like we had wanted. Janey made the best out of it  by doing fun, calmer activities like dying Easter eggs, and doing indoor egg hunts, puzzles, movies, and lots of board games with Nana and Grandaddy.

I still took Mary Varner to do things with family while Janey would stay calm and resting at Grandaddy and Nana's house.  This was one day when we met up with B'B' to go shopping.  Mary Varner can now wear ladies sizes in shoes.  She saw these very sparkly high heels and wanted to try them on.  She had fun posing in these fancy shoes.  We got some strange looks from people who thought I was considering buying them for her.

One afternoon, I took Allie and Mary Varner to a trampoline park called, High Heaven.  This place was really neat, and they had a blast jumping, and doing tricks all over the place.

This was a platform that you could swing out from and drop into a foam pit.  Mary Varner did this numerous times, and  was having a blast.

This was an area with trampolines and a basketball hoop.  The girls tried to bounce up to dunk  the ball, but both were not big enough to get it.

One night after supper, we had birthday cake, and sang Happy Birthday to Janey.  She opened her art kit that Grandaddy and Nana got her for her birthday.

I had originally planned to go home on Wednesday, but Janey's fever finally broke on Tuesday evening.  B'B', Brad,& Jennifer wanted to take Janey out to hibachi (one of her favorites) for her birthday celebration from them.  So, we decided to stay Wednesday night so Janey could at least enjoy one night out to eat before going home.
