Jim's birthday is on August 28th which is exactly one week before Mary Varner's birthday. Our house stays in birthday mode with balloons, decorations, and of course cake for both birthdays.
The girls and I went to Mississippi during the Labor Day weekend. Of course, we had to have Mary Varner a birthday celebration while we were there. She picked out this cake at Kroger, and was surprised that the lady at the bakery did not have any problem with her name. I explained that in Mississippi having a double name was very common, and that I am sure the lady had decorated many cakes with double names. Instead of a party with her friends this year, she chose to go to the water park, Big Kahunas, with our neighbors as her birthday party. I do not have any pictures from that because I was in the water with one or both girls the entire time. We had a blast!!

| Singing, "Happy Birthday", with the lights off so we could see the candles all lit up! |
| Birthday girl eating her breakfast of choice the morning of her birthday. Chocolate chip muffin, oranges, and yogurt. Janey and I sang Happy Birthday to her to start her day off. |
| School got out early on MV's birthday for Early Release day. Mary Varner said she wanted to help me make her cupcakes when she got home after lunch. I am sure that licking the mixer and bowl played a part in making her want to help me so much. Janey did not mind helping either. |
| I saw these "cupcake cones" on pinterest , and asked a few other moms for tip on how to make them. Mary Varner said she wanted to make them for her birthday, so that is what we did. It is very easy to do, as long as you keep the cones from turning over. I put aluminum foil around the bottoms of the cones to stabilize them, and it worked fine. |

| All done and waiting for them to cool |

| The girls enjoyed putting the icing on, and Mary Varner put her eight candle on the cupcake that she claimed for after supper! |
| YUMMY! |

Mary Varner opened her gifts from the family after supper. She was so happy, and very thankful for her gifts! She got some American girl doll hair accessories kit from MawMaw and Judy!

Mary Varner loves "My Little Pony and The Equestian Girls". Janey wanted to give her one of her favorites for her birthday. I was in Wal-mart and could not remember which one was her favorite so I could get it for Janey to give MV. I actually texted Jim, and he remembered that it was Rarity. He said that he earned some Daddy points for remembering that one.

| Mary Varner has been wanting and asking for Isabelle. Isabelle is a dancer and loves to sew just like Mary Varner. |
| Mary Varner really enjoys all her dolls!! |
| Before bed each night, MV puts her dolls to bed in the new bunk bed that Grandaddy and Nana gave her for her birthday! She is so pleased that they each have their own bed!! |
