100 days of Kindergarten

Mary Varner's school celebrated the 100th day of school Tuesday.  She was assigned a project over the weekend that required her to create something with 100 items in it, and bring it to school to display.  Mary Varner came up with a plan to make a 100 bead necklace, and then make a girl out of poster board to put the necklace on.  Jim and I were very impressed with the fact that she did this entire project all on her own.  The only part I helped her with was putting some of the beads on the string when she got tired of stringing them.   She drew, cut, and colored the poster girl all by herself!

The entire day at school was themed around the number 100.   They wrote their names 100 times, counted 100 pennies, and so on.  They drew pictures of themselves when they are 100 years old.  This is Mary Varner's picture of herself at 100 years old.

She said that she would have short curly old lady hair, wear aprons, have a cat, and have lots of wrinkles on her face!( I love the hat)
