January 2013

January has been a very busy month in a variety of ways. We started the year off with a trip to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus a couple of weeks ago. We gave the girls tickets in their Christmas stockings, and we all were very excited about getting to go! This month has also included lots of exciting first for Janey. She had her first trip to the E.R. for a dislocated elbow (a.k.a. Nurse Maid elbow), a first ride in the corvette, and her first official ballet performance. Mary Varner also had a busy month with starting back at school, corvette rides, ballet performances, and shooting Jim's old B'B' gun for the first time. Finally, I can not forget to mention that Oscar's 9th birthday was on January 19th. We celebrated by singing, and having cake in honor of his birthday.

Ready for the Circus to start

People flying and dancing everywhere

Throwing fire lit knives as the woman spins in a circle

Mr. Power spinning a huge wooden pole with girls in swings around in a circle

THe clown being silly with his plastic log

This was one of our favorites.  One would climb up the ladder and jump onto see saw pushing the other into the air.  They would flip into air and land on the next ones shoulders.  It was amazing!

Tight rope bike riding with girl doing a hand stand on a stick

The elephants were a favorite also (except for their smell)!  We had really awesome seats so we were very close to the action.

Janey was really excited about her first ride in the corvette

Thumbs up from Mary Varner as she take a turn in the vette

Happy Birthday to Oscar

Mary Varner ready some library books to Janey.  She is really getting good at reading, and barely needs help sounding out words anymore.
