School Christmas Party

Mary Varner's kindergarten class had their Christmas party yesterday!  Janey had a sinus infection and ear infection so I did not know how long we were going to be able to stay.  We stayed for the main activities of cookie decorating, making beaded candy canes, decorating picture frames, and Mrs. Runyon opening her gifts from the children.  We left before the eating started, but Mary Varner did bring a to-go plate home to eat for her snack.  The first semester of kindergarten has been a wonderful experience for Mary Varner, and she absolutely loves school, her teacher, and all her friends.

The children played a game where they passed this box of "treasures" around as one of the moms read a story.  They passed to the left or right depending on certain words they heard in the story.  Mary Varner has the box here, but look at Joey (the red head) a few down from MV.  He was getting so excited as the box got closer to him.  Once the story was finished, they all opened the box and picked out a prize to take home!
