Yes, I am officially older than 30 now! I do not know why I am so surprised because it is not like I live this super hip life(the fact that I used the word hip says alot doesn't it). Do not get me wrong I LOVE my life right now and there is no other stage in life that I would rather be in, but I remember thinking that 30 "something" was old and now that I am there it is NOT old! Although, I am starting to see gray hair, I am asleep no later than 10:30 every night of the week, and I have no idea what the most popular song on the radio is right now because all that is on my radio is "If your happy and you know it". I just tell myself that these things do not make me old, they just make me a mother. You can ask anyone who has known me for a long time and they will tell you that I have always dreamed of the day that I would be a wife and mother. So, I guess you could say that my dreams have come true!! Also, the fact that my brother's birthday is today and he is 3 years older than me helps because at least I am not as old as he is!!!
Here is a funny (but true) poem I found about aging:
The Aging Process...
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than ten years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half." You're never 36 and a half....you're four and a half going on 5.
You get into your teens; now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number. "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16." You could be 12, but you're gonna be 16. Eventually.
Then the great day of your life; you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. You BECOME 21....Yes!!!!!
Then you turn 30. What happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He TURNED; we had to throw him out. What's wrong? What changed? You BECOME 21; you TURN 30.
Then you're PUSHING 40....stay over there. You REACH 50.
You BECOME 21; you TURN 30; You're PUSHING 40; you REACH 50; then you MAKE IT to 60.
By then you've built up so much speed, you HIT 70. After that, it's a day by day thing. You HIT Wednesday...
You get into your 80's; you HIT lunch, you HIT 4:30. My Grandmother won't even buy green bananas. "Well, it's an investment, you know, and maybe a bad one."
And it doesn't end there....
Into the 90's, you start going backwards. "I was JUST 92."
Then a strange thing happens; if you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half."
Happy aging!

Happy Birthday! I turned 30 this year, too, and felt just like you, though probably not as content. I want to be in my 20's still! I loved your little poem, too. How true!
I likewise have no idea what the most popular song on the radio is...nor who is "cool" at present (or if that word is even "in" anymore). :o)

Happy Birthday!

I so glad you are so content, I am very happy too! But I know "things change"! And (with God's help) I'll be ready to step in another "stage" and I can't wait to see what he has planned!-------------------Love, Judy
