This week has been "the last day" week for all of Mary Varner's activities. The Wednesday night children's program at church (AWANA) had their awards night Wednesday night. Mary Varner received a trophy (her first ever) for being "Most Christ-like Cubbie", which is only given to one boy and one girl in each age group and a participation certificate. Thursday was her last day of preschool and swim lessons. They had water day and ate pizza at school, and they had a pool party at swim lessons. Also at swim lessons, they gave out "swim medals" to all the children in the class. As you can see it has been a very fun (busy) week for MV. Although I know that she enjoys school and her church program, I am looking forward to not having a set schedule for a few months!

New Wheels

Mary Varner got her first bike! She was riding her tricycle that she got for her 2nd birthday, but she has grown so much that her knees were hitting the handle bars. THe plan was to get the bike for her birthday (September), but we decided that she really needed a bike to ride for the summer. I took her to Wal-Mart to try out the different ones, and of course she picked the princess one! We even got the princess helmet that also came with princess knee pads. Disney does not leave anything out when they want to sell a product!! Of course, Mary Varner wants to suit up in all of it each time she goes on a bike ride....how did any of us ever survive without all this safety equipment??? Anyway, she rode her bike just about every waking hour over the weekend and has gotten pretty good at it! I just can not believe how big she looks on her new bike! She is really growing up fast!!

Water Fun

I took the girls to the water park yesterday. This was Janey's first time to go, and she liked it o.k., but was a little overwhelmed at times! Mary Varner was so excited to show baby sister how everything worked. It was also water games night at church last night. They had this big inflated water slide that the children had a blast playing on. I was surprised at how fast they went down. I could hardly get any pictures of MV on the slide because by the time I took the picture she was already at the bottom! We had a very fun day and I think with the heat this summer that water is going to have to become something we play in often!!

This and That

MV with her hair braided...my first time to braid since high school! We went the next day and got 2 inches cut off for the summer. It is just too hard to try to keep the "rat's nest" out and with the hot weather she wanted it shorter.

Happy Mother's Day

I love these two little girls more than I ever could have imagined! I am so proud to be their mama!

Janey's walking

I finally got some video of Janey walking. She has been taking a few steps here and there for the past few weeks, but it looks like she is starting to catch on. I better get ready to run because I have a feeling this little girl is going to start running and not stop!! Very Busy already!!

Writing her name

Mary Varner has really been into writing her letters lately. On Sunday, I looked down and she had written Mary on the church bulliten (backwards but it was there). I was so impressed because she has been able to tell me how to spell Mary for awhile now, but has not been able to write it by herself yet. Well, ever since Sunday she has been writing it all the time and now is working on the Varner part. Here is what she wrote while playing with sidewalk chalk yesterday. She did the mary part all by herself before I even came outside (notice the upside down M) and then she wrote the Varner part by herself while I told her the letters to write. We (of course) are so proud of her!!

What have we been up to???

We have been enjoying the weather around here and have gone to the beach a few times in the past couple of weeks!









Mary Varner is taking swim lesson twice a week for the months of April and May. She is doing really good and We are so proud of her. I really think that we will not have to wear arm floats this summer!!

We're Back

We have had a horrible computer virus and I have not been able to blog. Yes, I have been having withdrawals:) I have alot to post so bear with me!

This will be a test run to see if my computer lets me upload or not! Fingers crossed!
