A month!!!

It has been almost a month since I posted on the blog!!! It has been a very busy month. The girls had a Thanksgiving lunch at school that parents were invited to attend. I enjoyed getting to spend a special lunch with both girls.

We joined Mrs Lindsey and Savannah to see the Northwest Florida Ballet performance of "The Nutcracker."

First grade field trip

Janey's class along with a few other first grade classes took a field trip to the Gulfarium this week. Even with a misting rain, we all enjoyed seeing the dolphin shows, and all the other marine life.

Halloween Fun

Friday was crazy sock day at school for "Sock it to drugs." The girls wanted to do their Halloween pose for the picture. 

Saturday, the girls decided that they wanted to draw faces on the pumpkins instead of carving them. This was a great idea that was much cleaner too. 

This year Mary Varner dressed up as a pretty black cat, and Janey was Ariel. 

We joined our friends next door, and all enjoyed another year of trick or treating together! 

When we were almost done with our normal path , it started to rain. We all rushed back to our house where the girls dumped out all their candy and counted/ categorized each piece. I think they all ended up with over eighty pieces each. Somehow, Elianna had the most with 106 pieces.

Janey has been complaining of a headache everyday for the last couple of weeks. I took her to the pediatrician, and he suggested we get a real eye exam done. We had the appointment on Monday. Her vision is 20/20, but her eye focusing muscles are over focusing three times higher than they should. The dr. Said that it is like her eye muscles are doing aerobics all day. These are the glasses she picked out, and we are all glad we figured out the source for all the headaches. She will wear them at school, and anytime she is reading/writing/drawing etc. She does not have to wear them just doing regular activity. This focusing problem can correct as she gets older, we will just get an exam done each year to see what happens.

Piano recital

Mary Varner had a piano recital today at one of the local Senior Centers. It was a masquerade, so all the students dressed up. MV wore her black cat Halloween costume. I have a video I will upload once I get it from her teacher. 

Heart Check

Janey had her yearly heart check up this week.  Jim had to be out of town for work, so Grandaddy and Nana came to go with us.  Janey's valve defects are still behaving like they should, and her doctor said he would see her this time next year.  We are so thankful for God's continued protection of Janey's heart.

After the appointment, we went across the street to the mall to eat lunch.  We went into Claire's to get MV a black cat mask she wanted for her Halloween costume.  Janey enjoyed playing in all the pretty accessories while I got the mask.

County Fair

The girls had a dance performance at our county fair a couple of weekends ago.  Jim tried to get pictures of them on stage dancing, but they did not turn out very clear.  After the dance was over, we all enjoyed riding some of the fair rides.

Jim and Mary Varner rode this ride called, " Magic Carpet".  You can not tell in this picture but it swings around pretty fast.

Another ride that Mary Varner rode was this cliff glider one where you lay on your belly, and it flies you around in the air!

I decided to go on the scrambler with the girls.  

We finished up with a slide down the Fun Slide.

Camping

We reserved a cabin at Topsail Hill State Park a couple of weekends ago.  John and Rena had their family there camping all week in their travel trailer.  We had a great time as usual except for the biting flies on the beach.
