Daddy Daughter Dance 2015

The younger group (6 and under) lining up to sing,"Let it go", in  a singing competition! Janey was picked as one of the three winners!  She got a chocolate heart for her prize.

Limbo Time

Since the dance was on Valentine's night this year, Jim did not want me to stay home by myself.  So, I was at the dance helping with little jobs behind the scenes, and of course I would slip in from time to time to get some pictures.  The dance was a big success again this year.  We raised over $1,200 dollars to donate to the orphanage in Haiti that our church helps support!

Janey's Kindergarten Play

Thursday was Janey's Kindergarten Play, "Stone Soup".  She is in the blue shirt class, and is standing behind the microphone with the white bow in her hair!  It was a great performance for these kindergartners.  She said on the way to the school that night, "I am so eggcited that I could crack! Do you get it Mama?"

Dr. Seuss Night

This week Awana was Dr. Seuss theme night!  We had fun making Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes for the girls to wear, and I put my hair straight up like a whoville character.

Mimi's 90th Birthday Celebration

The girls and I went to Mississippi two weekends ago to celebrate Mimi's 90th birthday.  The celebrations included an all ladies luncheon on Friday, and a party at the Canton Country Club on Saturday night.  Having such a large family(including extended family), and being in a small town for over sixty years made for a big turnout of guests for the events.  I told Mimi it was like she was the Queen of Canton! Everyone, especially Mimi, had a great time and can not wait to do an even bigger party for her 95th in five years!!

Mary Varner and Janey love all the neighborhood dogs on the street.  MV spent a good amount of time outside petting and playing with them.

The apartment is coming right along, and they are expected to move in sometime in April

Two Weeks

Here are some pictures and selfies we took one day when we were waiting for our lunch at the Mexican restaurant a couple of Sundays ago!

The girls had their 100th day of school celebrations on Monday, Feb.2.  Mary Varner just had to take 100 items in a ziploc to use throughout the day with different things they were going to do in class( she took valentine candy corns).  Janey had an assignment to display 100 items on a poster.  She chose to make an Easter basket and glue jelly beans in the basket.  I helped her a little, but she did the majority of her poster by herself!  Also, her class had a pizza party to celebrate that day!
