Mary Varner really loves to draw!  Here are a few of my favorite drawings that she has done recently!  Janey has not gotten into drawing her own pictures. She would rather color a picture in a coloring book, or paint something.

Santa visit

I took the girls to see Santa yesterday after school.  Jim and I decided that I should take them during the week when it was less crowded so we would not spend hours standing in line on Saturday.  It was a great decision because we were the only ones there to see Santa.  The girls got to talk to him, and we did not feel rushed!  Mary Varner gave him her letter, and Santa said that if he brought her the Easy Bake Oven this year then he wanted her to bake him cookies in it next year for Christmas.  She happily agreed!  He asked Janey what she wanted and Janey told him she wanted a blue Cinderella bike that her baby could ride with her.  When he asked her if she had been a good girl, she shook her head yes!  Overall, it was a great visit and both girls are very excited about Christmas!!

Gingerbread House

Janey's preschool decorated gingerbread houses yesterday!  She tried really hard to put all of the candy on her house. I finally talked her into putting the left over candy into a ziploc to take home.  She then agreed that our house had enough candy on it! 



Letter to Santa

Mary Varner wrote this letter to Santa yesterday!  We are going after school tomorrow to see and give this letter to Santa at the Bass Pro Shop.  I thought it was very kind of her to include Janey in her letter.



Hello, this is Mary Varner. I have been a good girl this year.  For Christmas I want an easy bake oven, and Janey wants a Cinderella bike.



Decorating the tree

We put our Christmas tree up last weekend.  I am just getting around to putting up the pictures.  It took much longer than in the past, but we had fun!

I found this weightlifter ornament for Jim.  This was the only one with somewhat big arms.

Name

Janey has been working on writing her name for the last few weeks.  She started out just writing  J,  and then not really showing any interest in the rest of the letters.  We were watching our normal Friday night America's Funniest Videos last night, and out of the blue she wrote her entire name on her MagnaDoodle! I guess she was paying attention after all these last few weeks when I was trying to teach her!!
